As I noted my first tryst with the interchangeable concept was a few years back with Zenka. At that time they only had options for rimless models. I can tell you that what they did have was very thin and very lightweight. Both of these are good qualities but I would worry a bit about it if you are hard on glasses. A recent revisit has shown a lot more option.
They now have three different choices of how you can be interchangeable. You can add a clip to your front, switch temples, or switch temple inserts. And no you can't do all 3.
First the front face et cie. You pick one of 10 base frames in the color of your choice. You then pick the 1 (or heck all) of 27 overlays in the color of your choices for a sea of options.
The website is pretty snazzy so you can get the idea straight away. Here, I've chosen of basic frame in red, and then shown it with two of the overlays. The green completely obscures the red front. The white overlay has a cut out design that allows the red frame to show through below. As you can see this quickly adds up to a lot of options.
Zenka does have at least one US dealer in NYC.
